EU Standard Animal Welfare Enriched Cages for Laying Hens

Enriched cages fully comply with EU animal welfare farming standards. Each cage unit is equipped with separate nesting boxes, wooden perches, dust bathing areas and claw grinders, allowing laying hens to carry out their natural behaviors including perching, laying eggs in dim sheltered spaces and preening feathers. The system comes with automatic feeding, egg collection and manure removal equipment, ensuring hen health while supporting large-scale high-yield production. It is perfectly suitable for farms supplying premium eggs for export.

Metal Perch

Wire mesh is made of high-quality Q235 Al-Zn alloy (10% aluminum, 275g zinc coating). The sheet panel adopts 275g Al-Zn-Mg alloy plate (containing 3% magnesium and 11% aluminum).

Natural Claw Wear

Hens naturally wear down overgrown claws when standing and resting, preventing their nails from snagging the wire mesh and scratching other birds.

Ladder

Multi-layer raised climbing platforms are made of hot-dip galvanized steel, anti-corrosion and durable against trampling. Staggered upwards, they enable hens to climb high and stretch vertically.

Sufficient independent activity zones are reserved with ample open space, allowing laying hens to walk freely, stretch their bodies and fully spread their wings to satisfy their natural behavioral instincts.

Activity Top resting zone

The top-level activity zone is equipped with drinking and feeding systems to provide ample free space for hens to move around.

Dust bath area

Hens can scratch sand and roll freely to clean feathers and remove parasites. It also helps trim overgrown claws together with abrasive perches, complying with EU poultry welfare regulations.

Lower chicken baffle / Bottom barrier panel

The lower chicken barrier net facilitates flock management. It restrains chickens during vaccination and stops litter from being scratched under the cage, cutting material waste and cleaning work. It also prevents chickens from sticking heads out to peck each other or get trapped.

Nest box/Laying nest

Each nest box is fitted with reversible soft smooth nesting mats. The mats cushion eggs against cracking. Flip them up at night to keep hens out of nests and prevent manure buildup, maintaining clean eggs and lowering cleaning labor costs.
